- 4 Apple (e. g. Boskop, lids cut off, cored and slightly hollowed out, flesh diced)
- ½ unwaxed lemon (juiced)
- 0.333 cup Bacon (diced)
- 1 ¼ cups ground Meat
- 1 shallot (finely chopped)
- ¼ cup dry white wine
- ⅜ cup Meat stock
- 1 Tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1 tsp fresh marjoram (chopped)
- ¾ cup Mountain cheese (grated)
- 2 ½ Tbsps butter (chopped)
Preparation steps

Heat the oven to 180°C (160°C in a fan oven), 350°F, gas 4 and grease a baking dish.

Brush the insides of the apples with lemon juice and fry the bacon in a hot pan. Add the minced meat, fry for a few minutes, then add the shallot and the diced apple. Fry for a few minutes and then deglaze with the wine and the stock. Stir in the herbs and season with salt and ground black pepper. Simmer on a medium heat for 5-8 minutes.

Place the apples in the prepared baking tray and stir the cheese into the meat mixture. Season to taste and then transfer to the apples. Place the lids on top, cover with butter and bake for 30-35 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
