- 800 grams Beef
- 2 large onions
- 2 Tbsps clarified butter
- salt
- peppers
- cinnamon (1 pinch)
- allspice (1 pinch)
- 3 bay leaves
- 200 milliliters Beef broth (Instant)
- 400 grams carrots
- ½ lemon (thinly peeled zest)
- thyme (for garnishing)
Preparation steps

Cut meat into bite-sized cubes. Peel and chop onions.

Heat butter in pan and brown meat, few pieces at a time. Transfer to a baking dish. Saute onions in the same pan and remove from the pan, set aside. Season meat with salt, pepper, cinnamon and allspice, add broth and bay leaf and braise, covered, in preheated oven at 160°C (approximately 325°F) for about 1 1/2 hours.

Peel and slice carrots.

Add carrots, onions and lemon zest to meat (if necessary, add more broth) and cook for 30 minutes more. Season to taste and sprinkle with thyme. Serve.
