- 1 cup cold Tea
- 1 cup Golden raisins
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp Mixed spice
- 2 Tbsps butter
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ cups self-rising flour
- ½ cup slivered almonds

Heat the oven to 190ºC (170º fan) 375ºF, gas mark 5. Grease a line a 450g/1lb loaf tin.

Soak the sultanas in the tea for 20 minutes in a saucepan. Add the sugar, mixed spice and butter to the pan and bring to the boil. Let the mixture cool a little then add the egg and flour and mix well.
3.
Pour the mixture into the loaf tin, gently press the almonds onto the top and bake in the oven for about 1 1/4 hours or until a knife inserted into the loaf comes out clean.

Let the loaf cool in the tin then remove carefully.
