Preparation steps

Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the onions and saute until soft and translucent. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Deglaze the pan with broth and add the potatoes and cabbage. Simmer gently for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the potatoes and cabbage are tender. Season with salt and pepper. Add the cream, sour cream and cooked sausage slices; cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Check seasoning. Sprinkle with fresh thyme. Ladle soup into bowls and serve.
