- 8 ozs ground Beef
- 8 ozs hot Italian sausage (casings removed)
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 2 ribs Celery (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
- 2 cups diced San Marzano tomato
- ½ cup Red wine
- salt (to taste)
- freshly ground Black pepper (to taste)
- fresh rosemary for garnish (optional)
Preparation steps

In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, sausage, fennel seed, onion, and celery until the meat has browned and the vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes. Drain any excess grease from the pan.

Add the garlic, olive oil, tomatoes and red wine. Season with salt and pepper to taste, cover and simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes or until the wine has evaporated.
3.
Toast 12 slices of rustic bread. Spoon meat sauce onto toasted bread. Garnish with rosemary sprigs, if desired. Serve.
