Preparation steps

1.

Soak bread in lukewarm water. In a pan sauté shallots and garlic in 1 tablespoon oil. In a bowl combine ground beef, remaining ingredients and expressed buns and knead. If dough is too soft, add some breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper. With wet hands form about 12 small meatballs, coat with oil and fry in a pan on all sides until brown, about 10-12 minutes.

2.

Peel potatoes and boil in salt water for about 30 minutes. Drain potatoes and press through a potato ricer. With a wooden spoon stir butter and hot milk together until a loose puree arises, adding milk if necessary. Season with salt and nutmeg.

3.

Peel onions and cut into rings. Dip in flour and fry in hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

4.

Serve meatballs with mashed potatoes and salad of your choice. Garnish with onion rings to serve.
