Soup with Rice and Meatballs

- 100 grams Basmati rice
- 5 garlic cloves
- 4 Tbsps Corn oil
- 2 scallions
- 150 grams ground pork
- 2 Tbsps soy sauce
- salt

- 1 ½ liters Chicken broth
- 1 Tbsp Fish sauce
- 2 Tbsps freshly chopped cilantro
Preparation steps
Rinse the rice in a sieve under running water and then boil with almost twice the amount of lightly salted water. Let stand about 20 minutes and then put the rice aside.
Peel and chop the garlic. Cook in hot oil, remove from heat and allow to cool. Then pour the oil through a fine sieve. Rinse the scallions and cut into thin rings. Mix ground beef in a bowl with the soy sauce and season with salt and pepper. Then form into small meatballs about 2 cm in diameter (approximately 1 inch). Season the chicken broth with a little pepper and stir in fish sauce and simmer. Add the meatballs and simmer for 1 minute. Then add the rice and let simmer again for 5 minutes. Add scallions and bring to a boil. To serve, pour soup into bowls, drizzle with garlic oil and sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
