- ⅔ cup self-rising flour (sifted)
- ½ cup Muscovado sugar
- ½ cup butter (softened)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 Tbsps Treacle
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp Mixed spice
- 2 Bramley Apple (peeled, cored and chopped)
Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 190°C (170 fan) | 375°F | gas 5 and butter six small baking dishes.

Combine the flour, sugar, butter, eggs, treacle and spices in a bowl and whisk together for 2 minutes or until smooth.
3.
Fold in the apple and divide between the baking dishes then bake for 20 - 25 minutes.
4.
Test with a wooden toothpick, if it comes out clean, the cakes are done. Serve warm with custard or cream.
