16 ozs medium Egg noodle
1 ¼ cups unsalted butter (room temperature; plus extra for pan)
1 cup cream cheese (room temperature)
2 tsps pure vanilla extract
1 cup honey
5 fresh eggs
1 cup Sour cream
4 sprigs fresh Sage chopped in 2-inch lengths (optional)
cherry Tomatoes for garnish (optional)

Preparation steps

Preheat oven to 350º F. Generously butter 9-by-13-inch casserole dish.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook noodles according to package instructions until they are tender. Drain in a colander and rinse under cold running water. Spread noodles evenly in prepared casserole dish.

In a large bowl, using and electric mixer, cream butter and cream cheese together. Gradually pour in honey, beating to incorporate. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Fold in sour cream, mixing until fully incorporated. Mixture should be thick and creamy. Pour mixture over noodles.

Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the kugel is set and the top is golden brown. Allow the kugel to rest for 15 minutes. Cut into squares, Transfer to serving platter. Garnish with fresh sage and cherry tomatoes (optional). Serve warm or at room temperature.
