Preparation steps

1.

For the dough, mix flour, egg, egg yolk, chopped butter and 1 pinch of salt rapidly into a dough. Shape into a ball and wrap in foil. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

2.

For the filling, mix chopped almonds with powdered sugar, lemon zest and lemon juice.

3.

Divide the dough in 2 portions and roll each portion on a floured surface to a 24 cm (approximately 9 inch) disc. Place 1 disc in a baking dish or pie plate with same dimensions and create an edge of about 1 cm (approximately 1/2 inch). Add filling, smooth out and place the remaining disc on top. Flute the edge carefully with a fork and prick surface several times with a fork. Coat with milk and sprinkle with sliced almonds.

4.

Bake in a preheated oven on the middle rack at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for about 40 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
