Baked Apples in Bread
Ingredients
- Ingredients
- 50 milliliters Rum
- 120 grams raisins
- 1 Loaf of bread (round, rustic style bread)
- 4 Apple
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 40 grams ground almonds
- 40 grams ground Hazelnuts
- 2 tsps cinnamon
- ½ tsp Ground clove
- 3 Tbsps honey
- 2 Tbsps Maple syrup
- 30 grams butter
Preparation steps
Heat the rum and soak the raisins. Cut off the top from the loaf of bread and scoop out the inside. Weigh out 100 grams (approximately 3 1/2 oz) of the bread. Rinse the apples, cut off the tops and remove the core with a corer, making sure not to pierce through the bottom. Make the opening larger with a knife and sprinkle with lemon juice.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).
Mix the almonds and hazelnuts with the raisins and rum, cinnamon, honey, maple syrup, and the prepared bread. Grease a baking dish with half of the butter. Place the apples in the dish, fill with the nut mixture, replace the tops of the apples and cover with the remaining butter pieces. Bake the apples in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes.
Remove the apples from the oven, place inside the hollowed-out bread and serve.
