400 grams macaroni
2 Tbsps butter
2 Tbsps slightly heaped Pastry flour
500 milliliters milk
salt
freshly ground peppers
1 Tbsp chopped Basil
1 Tbsp tomato puree
2 Tbsps Parmesan

Preparation steps

Cook macaroni in a pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain. Melt butter in a saucepan. Add flour, stir and continue stirring until all flour is mixed with butter. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add milk. Mix well, put the saucepan on the stove, boil while stirring and continue stirring until the sauce thickens. Add tomato puree, basil and Parmesan cheese, stir and season with salt and pepper.

Preheat oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). Mix pasta with the sauce and place in a buttered baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes until golden brown. Serve immediately garnished with Parmesan cheese if desired.
