- 1 tsp dried, mixed Fresh herbs

- For the tomato sauce
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 1 clove garlic cloves (chopped)
- 2 cups canned, chopped Tomatoes
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp Tomato paste

1 Skillet, 1 Bowl, 1 Small bowl, 1 Plate, 1 Measuring cups, 1 Cutting board, 1 Large knife, 1 Small knife, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Mandoline, 1 Whisk, 1 Slotted spatula, 1 Kitchen towel, 1 Garlic press, 1 Fine grater
Preparation steps

For the meatballs: heat the oil in a wide pan and gently fry the onion for about 5 minutes or until soft. Stir in the meat, turn up the heat and cook for 5 minutes stirring all the time.

Add the mixed herbs, season with salt and pepper and remove the pan from the heat.

For the tomato sauce: heat the oil in a pan and gently fry the onion and garlic for 5 minutes or until soft. Add the tomatoes and simmer gently for 20 minutes, stirring from time to time.

Stir in the sugar and tomato paste and season with salt and pepper. Remove the pan from the heat.

Put a large pan of salted water to boil and cook the spaghetti according to the packet instructions.

Meanwhile, mix the beaten egg into the meat mixture and roll between your hands to form into meatballs. Heat the oil in a large frying pan and gently fry the meatballs until browned well and cooked through.

Reheat the tomato sauce, gently stir in the meatballs and serve with the spaghetti. Garnish with basil leaves.
