- For the cake
- 1 ½ cups sugar (divided)
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsps Baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 3 Tbsps Shortening
- 1 cup milk
- 1 ½ cups fresh Blueberries
- 4 Tbsps butter
Preparation steps

Preheat oven to 350º F/ 175º C. Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.

Add 1 cup of sugar, flour, baking powder and salt to a large mixing bowl. Whisk to combine dry ingredients. Add shortening to your dry ingredients using a pastry cutter to combine. Flour mixture will resemble soft sand when done. Slowly, add milk and stir to combine.
3.
Pour batter into the bottom of a prepared pan. Add blueberries on top of batter and sprinkle 1/2 cup of sugar over the top.
4.
Dot top of cobbler with butter. Bake for 45-60 minutes, until golden brown.
