300 grams Puff pastry dough
4 egg yolks
2 Tbsps Whipped cream
200 grams mixed Hard cheese (such as Parmesan, Emmentaler, Gruyere)
ground paprika
salt
freshly ground peppers

Preparation steps

1.

Defrost puff pastry. Preheat oven to 210°C (approximately 400°F). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

Roll out pastry into 2 squares measuring 25 x 25 cm (approximately 10 x 10 inches) each. Whisk egg yolks with cream. Finely grate cheese.

3.

Brush both pastries with egg yolk mixture. Sprinkle 1 with cheese and season with paprika, salt and pepper.

4.

Place second pastry on top of pastry with cheese, yolk side down. Roll over with a rolling pin to seal. Brush top with egg yolk mixture.

5.

Cut dough with a shark knife into strips. Twist strips twice and place on baking sheet. Continue with remaining dough and bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.

6.

Meanwhile, write aphorisms on small sheets of paper. Rol up and place in warm pastries. Serve.
