There are many variations of this recipe. Feel free to replace the cherries with any other type of fruit you prefer, such as strawberries or blueberries. You can replace the almonds with other nuts such as hazelnuts, walnuts or cashew nuts as well.

- 1 tsp butter
- 5 eggs
- 4 Tbsps sugar
- 4 ¼ ozs Pastry flour
- salt
- 1 generous pinch Baking powder
- 5 ozs Sour cream
- 3 ½ ozs
- 26 ozs Sweet cherry
- 2 Tbsps slivered almonds
Preparation steps
Grease 4 round casseroles, measuring 6" in diameter, with butter.
Beat eggs until frothy with sugar, 3.5 oz flour, 1 pinch of salt, baking powder, sour cream, and milk.
Rinse and drain cherries. Mix with remaining flour.
Fill each casserole dish halfway with batter. Add a layer of cherry filling and top with more batter.
Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F until golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.
Sprinkle with flaked almonds and bake for another 10 minutes.
Remove the cakes from the oven and serve immediately.
