- For the tarts
- 500 grams Whole wheat flour
- 4 tsps Baking powder
- 6 Tbsps cocoa powder
- 2 tsps Ground cinnamon
- cloves (per 1/4 teaspoon ground)
- Cardamom (per 1/4 teaspoon ground)
- 150 grams peeled almonds
- 150 grams Currants
- 100 grams diced Candied lemon
- 200 grams soft butter
- 7 Tbsps honey
- 3 eggs
- 500 milliliters milk
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- For the garnish
- 200 grams Couverture
- 40 Maraschino cherry
- 40 Paper baking molds (5 cm diameter)
Preparation steps

For the tarts: Mix flour with baking powder, cocoa and spices. Rub almonds in almond mill. Rinse and drain currants. Mix all prepared ingredients with candied lemon, butter, honey, eggs, milk and lemon juice until smooth. Preheat the oven to 150°C (approximately 300°F.)

Pour batter to fill 2/3 of each paper baking mold, place molds on a baking sheet and bake on the middle rack of the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Allow the tarts to cool in tins.
For the garnish: Melt couverture using hot water. Cover the surface of the tarts with couverture and top each with a cocktail cherry before letting couverture harden.
