Preparation steps

1.

Cut bacon slices in half crosswise. Toast almonds in a dry pan. Remove pits from dates. Fill each date with an almond, wrap with bacon and secure with a toothpick.

2.

Peel, halve and sauté garlic in hot oil. Remove garlic from the pan and add dates. Cook on all sides over high heat. Season with fresh ground pepper and arrange on a platter.
