Preparation steps

1.

Preheat the oven to 250°C (approximately 500°F). Brush the deep dish pizza baking sheet with a little oil.

2.

Roll out the dough onto a floured surface and place in the prepared dish. Form a small edge for the crust and then prick the base several times with a fork. Brush with olive oil and then bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven.

3.

For the topping, remove the casing from the sausage and fry in a pan in 1-2 tbsp hot oil. Then divide the mixture into small meatballs. Peel, halve and cut the onion into strips. Rinse, clean and cut the pepper into fine strips. Peel garlic and chop finely. Put all of these into the meat mixture and fry together while stirring for a few minutes until the sausages are golden brown. Drain the mixture on paper towels.

4.

Remove the baked crust from the oven and spread on the pizza sauce and then the prepared topping mixture. Sprinkle with the grated mozzarella and parmesan. Rinse the tomatoes, remove the stems and cut into slices. Spread on the pizza and bake for another 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.

5.

Remove from the baking dish and serve garnished with basil.
