Garlic Bagel
Ingredients
- For the dough
- 450 grams Pastry flour
- ½ cube Yeast (21 grams)
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 125 milliliters milk
- 60 milliliters vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- In addition
- 1 egg white
- 2 Tbsps garlic cloves
Preparation steps
For the dough: dissolve yeast in warm milk, add 1 tablespoon of sugar and combine with flour, oil, salt and egg, Knead with a dough attacment of a hand mixer until smooth and let rise, covered, for about 30 minutes in a warm place.
Knead again and let rise for 30 minutes more.
Knead dough on a floured surface, divide into 10 equal parts and shape each into a ball. Make a hole in the middle and shape into rings. Let rise for about 15 minutes.
Cook bagels, few at a time, for about 1 minute in boiling salted water, turning once. Remove with a slotted spoon and arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with beaten egg white and sprinkle with crushed garlic. Bake in preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for about 25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve.
