Granola Bars with Chocolate

- 160 grams butter
- 240 grams honey
- 140 grams mixed Dried Fruit (such as apricots, apples, figs, plums, etc.)
- 120 grams ground almonds
- 80 grams ground Hazelnuts
- 70 grams coarsely chopped Hazelnuts
- 70 grams Shredded coconut
- 180 grams mixed Oats (such as oats, barley, wheat, rye and spelt)
- 3 Tbsps Pastry flour
- 200 grams Milk chocolate
Preparation steps
Preheat the oven to 160°C (approximately 350°F). Mix butter with honey in a saucepan and melt over low heat. Chop fruit coarsely. Mix fruit, almonds, nuts, coconut, flakes and flour-butter mixture in a bowl and spread on a 30 x 24 cm (approximately 12 x 9 inch) baking tray lined with parchment paper until 1 cm (approximately 1/2 inch) thick. Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes.
Meanwhile, coarsely chop chocolate and melt over a hot, not boiling water bath. Remove melted chocolate from the water bath and let cool slightly.
Remove cooked granola bar from the oven, let cool and cut into 2 x 8 cm (approximately (1 x 3 inch) narrow strips. Plunge one side of each granola bar into melted chocolate and leave to dry on a wire rack or baking sheet with chocolate side up.
