Preparation steps

1.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (about 350°F).

2.

Beat butter and sugar until creamy and gradually mix in the eggs along with the salt. Mix the flour with the nuts and baking powder and stir in the buttermilk alternately with the butter mixture. Pour the mixture into a 24-cm pan lined with baking paper. Smooth and place in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes. Remove, allow to cool and crumble in a bowl.

3.

Chop the chocolate into small pieces. Beat the butter with the powdered sugar until creamy white and stir in the cream cheese. Next stir in the chocolate. Knead the cream with the cake crumbs, shape into small balls and put each on a popstick. Cover and refrigerate for about 1 hour.

4.

To decorate, melt the Candy Melts over a hot, but not boiling, pot of water and cool slightly. Pour over the Cake Pops and let dry. Mix the icing sugar with food coloring and a few drops of water. Fill a small freezer bag with the icing sugar mixture, cut off a tiny corner and decorate the cake pops with the frosting in wavy lines. Allow to dry again and serve.
