600 grams Chicken breasts
4 Tbsps vegetable oil
1 tsp freshly grated ginger
1 tsp Curry powder
3 Tbsps Lime juice
1 tsp brown sugar
400 milliliters Chicken broth
250 grams yellow Lentils
salt
freshly ground peppers
2 handfuls Fresh herbs (cilantro and chives)

Preparation steps

For the chicken skewers, rinse the chicken, pat dry and cut lengthwise into about 1.5 cm (approximately 1/2 inch) wide, thin strips. Mix 2-3 tablespoons oil with the ginger, curry, 2 tablespoons lime juice and sugar, add the chicken and let stand for about 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Boil the broth and add the lentils. Simmer about 10 minutes. If necessary, add more broth. Remove from the heat and let cool. Mix in the remaining oil and season with lime juice, salt and pepper.

Thread the chicken onto wooden skewers and cook on the hot grill about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Rinse the herbs, shake dry, pluck the cilantro leaves and coarsely cut the chives. Divide the lentil salad among bowls or shallow plates and sprinkle with the herbs. Place the skewers on top and serve.
