cup butter
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 tsps Baking powder
¼ cup cocoa powder
8 Tbsps milk (3.5% fat approximately)

1 small egg white
2 cups powdered sugar
12 small Milk chocolate

Preparation steps

1.
Heat the oven to 180C/ 160C fan/ 350F/ gas 5.

Line a muffin pan with 12 paper cases.
3.
Cream the butter until light and fluffy, then one after the other beat in the sugar, eggs and vanilla extract.

Mix the flour, baking powder and cocoa and add to the creamed mixture with the milk, alternating additions of dry ingredients and milk.

Spoon the batter into the prepared paper cases and bake for about 30 minutes. Take out of the oven, leave to cool slightly in the pan, then take out and cool on a cake rack.
6.
To decorate, beat the egg white until forming soft peaks then mix with the confectioners' (icing) sugar to make a smooth, thick frosting. Put a little of the frosting on each cupcake, decorate with a chocolate and leave to set before serving.
