- 800 grams lamb (Round, without fat and sinews)
- 800 grams yellow onion
- 2 Tbsps fresh ginger
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp ground Turmeric
- 1 tsp Curry powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- salt
- 4 Tbsps vegetable oil
- cornstarch
Preparation steps

Cut the lamb into large, bite-size cubes. Peel onions and cut into narrow strips. Peel garlic and chop finely. Heat the oil in a large saucepan and sauté garlic and ginger briefly. Add turmeric, curry powder, and cayenne pepper and fry, stirring constantly for a few seconds. Then stir in the lamb, cover and simmer over low heat about 15 minutes, stirring frequently.

Bring 500 ml of water to a boil, Add the meat mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer until the meat is tender, about 1 1/4 hours. For a thicker sauce, if desired, stir a bit of cornstarch into some cold water. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the curry and stir until thickened.
