Lasagne with White Sauce

- 1 onion (diced)
- 2 garlic cloves (chopped)
- 1 carrot
- 1 red paprika
- 100 grams Celery
- 150 grams grated Cheese
- 3 Tbsps olive oil
- 300 grams mixed Ground meat
- 2 Tbsps Tomato paste
- 50 milliliters Red wine
- 1 tsp thyme
- 50 milliliters Vegetable broth
- 1 can peeled, diced Tomatoes
- salt
- peppers (from the mill)
- 50 grams butter
- 50 grams Pastry flour
- 400 milliliters milk
- 100 milliliters Beef broth
- 200 grams Lasagne noodle
Preparation steps
Peel carrot and celery and finely dice.
Rinse peppers, halve, remove seeds and white interior and cut into small cubes.
Sear onion, garlic and minced meat in hot oil in a saucepan.
Add carrot, pepper, thyme and celery to pan and sauté briefly.
Stir tomato paste into mixture in pan. Add wine, tomatoes and broth.
Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
To make white sauce, melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour and sauté briefly. Simmer over low heat, gradually pouring in milk and broth while stirring constantly, for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add 3 tablespoons white sauce to mold then line mold with lasagna sheets.
Add minced meat, white sauce, and lasagna sheets in alternating layers into mold until all ingredients are used.
After final lasagna sheet layer, top with white sauce.
Sprinkle lasagna with grated cheese and bake in preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) until golden brown about 40 minutes.
