Preparation steps

1.

Thaw puff pastry.

2.

Rinse and dry leeks, quarters lengthwise and cut crosswise into pieces. Dice ham into small pieces.

3.

Peel garlic and chop finely.

4.

Heat butter in a pan and saute leeks and garlic for a few minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Combine leeks with ham.

5.

Whisk cream with eggs, herbs and cheese well and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

6.

Roll out puff pastry until slightly larger than the tart pan and line pan with it, making an edge all around. Spread leeks on the pastry and pour egg cream over. Brush pastry with beaten egg yolk and bake tart in preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve warm or cold.
