- 1 kilogram potatoes
- 250 milliliters milk (or cream)
- 80 grams butter
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- Nutmeg
- For the buttered breadcrumbs
- 70 grams butter
- 70 grams freshly grated white bread
Preparation steps

Peel the potatoes. Rinse, dice into large pieces, and cook in boiling salted water for 20 minutes. Drain the potatoes and pass through a ricer while still hot.

Heat the milk (or cream) with 80 g (approximately 3 ounces) of butter. Incorporate into the potatoes, whisking constantly, until the puree is smooth and creamy. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

For the buttered breadcrumbs, melt the butter in a pan. Add the breadcrumbs and toast until golden brown, stirring constantly.

Add the poatoes to a preheated dish, top with the bread crumbs, and serve.
