5 slices white bread (debarked, day-old)
5 Tbsps butter

Preparation steps

For the filling, chop the herbs and crumbled white bread finely, and mix together in a bowl. Stir in the melted butter and season with salt and pepper. If the mixture is too dry, add a little more butter.

Open the oysters and drain the salt water. Lay the oysters on a bed of sea salt (preferably in baking dish or refractory mold) and fill the filling into it. Broil under the preheated broiler or bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (fan: 200°C, gas mark 4) (approximately 425°F) for about 4 minutes until golden brown au gratin.

Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
