1 organic lemon
1 pc ginger (about 4 cm)
500 milliliters dry white wine
1 Cinnamon stick
1 tsp cloves
3 Cardamom
2 Star anise
150 grams sugar
4 ripe Pear (such as Williams Christ)

Preparation steps

1.

Rinse lemon in hot water, wipe dry, grate zest and squeeze juice. Peel ginger and cut into thin slices.

2.

Combinve wine with ginger, spices, sugar, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and zest, bring to a boil. Simmer for about 10 minutes on medium heat.

3.

Rinse and peel pears, add to syrup. Poach for about 8 minutes on low heat and remove from the heat, cool. Remove cloves, cinnamon stick, cardamom and star anise from the syrup. 

4.

Arrange pears on plates,drizzle with syrup and garnish with star anise. Serve.
