- ½ cup white wine
- 12 day-old French bread
- 2 large eggs
- 4 Tbsps sunflower oil
- ground cinnamon
- superfine caster sugar
- honey
Preparation steps
1.
Pour the wine into a shallow dish and dip the bread rounds into it.
2.
Beat the eggs in a shallow dish.
3.
Dip half the bread rounds into the egg on each side to coat completely.
4.
Heat 4 tablepoons oil in a frying pan until very hot and fry the bread rounds for about 1 minute on each side until golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent kitchen paper.
5.
Repeat with the remining egg, oil and bread.
6.
Serve hot sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Drizzle with honey.
