Spice Cake with Nutella

- 125 grams chocolate hazelnut spread
- 150 grams softened butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 pinch salt
- 180 grams brown sugar
- 50 milliliters Whipped cream
- 100 grams Pastry flour
- 25 grams cornstarch
- 200 grams ground Hazelnuts
- 50 grams chopped Hazelnuts
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp Ground clove
- ½ tsp allspice
- 1 pinch Anise seed
- 1 packet Baking powder
Preparation steps
Rinse a 25-30 cm (approximately 10-11 1/2-inch) long romertopf (clay dish) with cold water and undr brush with butter.
Place the nutella and butter in a heatproof bowl and melt over a pan of simmering water. Remove from the heat and let cool. Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites until stiff with a pinch of salt. Whip the egg yolks with the sugar and the cream until fluffy and stir in nutella mixture. Mix the flour with the cornstarch, nuts, spices and baking powder and fold into the mixture. Gently fold in the egg whites.
Scrape the mixture into the prepared pan, put the lid on and slide into the cold oven.
Heat the oven to 200°C (approximately 390°F) and bake for about 1 hour. Remove from the oven and unmold and cool on a wire rack. Serve cut into slices.
