1 pinch ground ginger
1 pinch ground Cardamom

Preparation steps

For the dough: Mix flour with sugar, salt, spices and nuts in a large bowl. Make a well in the center, beat in egg and spread little flecks of butter around the mixture. Work into a smooth dough with your hands, form into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap. Let sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

For the topping: Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 360°F). Dust your work surface with flour and roll the dough out into a tube with a diameter of 3 cm (approximately 1 inch). Cut into 1 cm (approximately 4/10 inch) slices and form each into a ball. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper and top each ball with half a cashew, put in the oven, and bake for 10-15 minutes. Remove the finished cookies and let cool on a wire rack.
