- 1 kilogram white Asparagus tip
- salt
- peppers
- 3 Tomatoes
- 200 grams Mozzarella
- 6 Tbsps Basil pesto (purchased or homemade)
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 4 Sirloin steak (about 180 grams or 6 ounces)
- Fat (for greasing)
- Basil (for garnish)
Preparation steps

Peel asparagus thoroughly, cut off ends and cook in boiling salted water for 8-12 minutes.

Rinse, trim and slice tomatoes. Drain mozzarella and cut into slices.

Drain asparagus, rinse and drain again. Cut in half crosswise. Cut fat from steaks, heat oil and butter in a large frying pan and sear steaks on each side for 1-2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Place steaks in a greased baking dish. Top each with 1 tablespoon basil pesto, tomato slices and asparagus pieces. Cover with mozzarella and more basil pesto.

Bake in preheated oven at 220°C (approximately 425°F) for 8-10 minutes. Serve garnished with basil.
