Preparation steps

1.

Soak bread roll in lukewarm water until soft, then squeeze out liiquid, tear into pieces and combine with ground beef in a bowl. Make a well in the center and add egg to the well and sprinkle parsley around well.

2.

Drain olives, tomatoes and mozzarella, then cut everything into small cubes.

3.

Season meat mixture with salt and pepper and mix well. Divide mixture into small portions, then shape into balls and flatten. Place olive mixture in the middle of each, then wrap meat mixture around filling to enclose.

4.

Whisk flour with salt and pepper in a shallow bowl, add meatballs and toss to coat, tapping to remove excess flour.

5.

Arrange meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake in preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for about 25 minutes, flipping meatballs halfway through.

6.

Remove from oven and serve immediately, with a simple green salad and marinara sauce for dipping, as desired.
