- For the topping
- 3 Pear
- 1 lemon (juice)
- butter (for the tray)
- flour (for the tray)
- 1 ¼ cups Macadamia Nuts
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
- For the cake
- ½ cup Milk chocolate (at least 45 % cocoa, chopped)
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 ⅔ cups flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ packet Baking powder
- 2 cups ground almonds
- ¼ cup milk
Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 180°C | 350F | gas 4.

Grease and flour the baking tray.

Peel the pears and remove the cores. Slice and sprinkle with lemon juice.

Chop the chocolate.

Whisk the eggs with the sugar until foamy.

Combine the flour, cinnamon and baking powder. Gradually add the flour mixture along with the nuts and milk (as needed) to the eggs and sugar. Put the batter into the baking tray and smooth the top. Sprinkle with the chocolate; top with pears; finish with the nuts. Bake for approximately 50-60 minutes (use the toothpick test to check for doneness). Remove from the oven. Cool.

Slice into small square and serve dusted with powdered sugar.
