100 grams Tomato paste
1 can chopped Tomatoes
1 bay leaf
1 onion
200 milliliters Red wine
300 milliliters water
vegetable oil
5 cloves
200 grams white bread
125 grams cream cheese
1 egg
2 egg yolks
salt
freshly ground peppers

Preparation steps

Peel the onion, cut into large cubes and sauté in a bit of vegetable oil until softened. Stir in the tomato paste and chopped tomatoes and sauté briefly. Deglaze with the red wine and water. Add the bay leaf and cloves, cover and simmer over medium heat for about 1 hour. Season with salt and pepper and puree with an immersion blender until smooth.

Remove the crust from the white bread and crumble into a bowl. Add the cream cheese, egg, egg yolk, season with salt and pepper and mix well.

Bring a pan of salted water to a boil, then remove from heat. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture into the hot water and let stand for about 10 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Ladle the soup into bowls and top with several of the cream cheese dumplings.
