- Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
- 1 Tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 can Chili (400 grams)
- 250 grams diced Tomatoes (canned)
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- Chili powder
- ½ tsp Coffee powder
- 6 small Tortillas
- Basil (for garnish)
Preparation steps
1.
Peel the onion and garlic and finely chop. Saute in hot oil in a pan. Stir in the tomato paste and sauté briefly. Then add the chili beans (including the sauce) and the tomatoes. Season with salt, pepper, chili powder and coffee granules and let simmer 10-15 minutes until thickened. Remove about half of the mixture and puree. Return to the pan with the rest of sauce and season to taste. Allow to cool slightly.
2.
Spread the bean paste thinly on the tortillas, leaving a border around the edges. Roll the tortillas and cook in a grill pan on both sides over medium heat about 5 minutes, until grill marks appear. Remove, cut into pieces and serve garnished with basil.
