Even smarter
This Turkish angel hair cake scores not only visually with the fine green pistachios: Because they also provide the nutrient combination calcium and phosphorus for healthy bones and teeth. The trace element iron is also included: It promotes blood formation and can slow down tiredness and exhaustion.
The Turkish angel hair cake, known as Künefe, is a special treat for dessert! It should also be eaten freshly prepared, because once warmed up again it loses its crunchiness and mouthfeel.
Ingredients
- Ingredients
- 250 grams Turkish Angel hair (Tel Kadayif)
- 150 grams cream cheese
- 100 grams butter
- 200 grams sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- coarsely chopped Pistachio (to sprinkle)
Preparation steps
Preheat oven to 175°C (approximately 345°F).
Add sugar with 150 ml (approximately 5 ounces) of water in a saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes. Then stir in lemon juice and remove syrup from the heat.
Melt butter and stir in noodles. Mix well with your hands, so that the noodles disengage and butter spreads well. Press half of the noodles in a small springform pan and spread cream cheese on top. Spread remaining noodles on and press down. Bake in preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Remove, let cool slightly, then soak well with the syrup, so the noodles absorb the syrup. Sprinkle with pistachios and serve.
