Preparation steps

1.

Cut pita bread in half crosswise.

Rinse and dry lettuce, then place on bottom half of the pita. Peel onion and cut in half. Julienne one-half into and slice the other. Cut pepperoncini in half. Coarsely chop olives and mix with onion strips and half the pepperoncini. Stuff mixture into pita.

2.

Rinse and thickly slice tomato and place in pita. Cut cheese and add to pita, then add remaining pepperoncini and onion slices and close pita. Rinse green pepper, remove seeds and ribs, then slice flesh. Season with salt and pepper, and place on top of the pita.

3.

Cut chile pepper in half, remove seeds and cut lengthwise into strips. Crumble remaining cheese, sprinkle with chile onto pita and place on a baking sheet. Briefly bake in an oven preheated to 175°C (approximately 350°F), until cheese is slightly brown.

Peel and press garlic. Combine garlic with remaining ingredients and drizzle into pita. Serve immediately.
