Veggie Burgers
Ingredients
- For the patties
- 3 shallots (chopped)
- 3 Tbsps clarified butter
- 150 Whole spelt seeds
- 500 milliliters Vegetable broth
- 1 carrot (coarsely grated)
- 1 bunch parsley
- 50 grams grated Gouda
- 1 egg
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- also
- 4 sesame seed Hamburger bun
- 2 Tomatoes
- 1 onion
- Lettuce
- Ketchup
- Mayonnaise
Preparation steps
heat 1 tablespoon of the clarified butter in a skillet and saute the shallots until translucent. Add the cracked spelt and carrot and sauté until the carrot is tender. Add the broth and cook over very low heat, stirring occasionally until the spelt is tender, about 10 minutes. Stir in the cheese, transfer to a bowl and let cool.
Stir in the chopped parsley and the egg and with dampened hands, shape the mixture into 4 patties. Heat the butter in a skillet and saute the patties until golden brown on both sides.
Rinse and slice the tomatoes.
Peel the onion and cut into rings.
Rinse the lettuce leaves and pat dry.
Halve the rolls horizontally and spread the mayonnaise on the bottom halves. Top with the lettuce, the patties, the tomato slices and onion rings and a splash of ketchup. Place the top halves on and serve.
