5 Tbsps sunflower oil
1 pinch salt
4 Apple (granny smith)
2 tsps lemon juice
4 Tbsps brown sugar
40 grams raisins
Pastry flour (for rolling)
60 grams melted butter
30 grams planed almonds

Preparation steps

1.

Combine flour, 130 ml (approximately .6 cup) of water, 3 tablespoons oil and salt. Knead to form a smooth dough. Add more flour is dough sticks to hands. Knead dough for 5 minutes and then shape into a ball. Brush dough with remaining oil. Let rest at room temperature for 1 hour.

Peel, core and dice apples. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Boil apples, sugar and raisins in a saucepan, stirring constantly. Simmer for 1-2 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool in a glass bowl.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). Place a large cotton cloth on the work surface and sprinkle with flour. Top cloth with dough and roll up to 3 times the size. unroll dough and brush with melted butter.

Place cooled apple mixture on the bottom of the dough. Use cloth to roll up dough. Place, seam side down, on a greased baking sheet. Brush strudel with remaining butter and sprinkle with almonds. Bake until golden brown, about 30 minutes. Remove, dust with powdered sugar, slice and serve.
