6 ½ cups floury potatoes (peeled and chopped)
½ cup butter
½ cup milk
½ cup Parmesan

Preparation steps

1.
Heat the oven to 200ºC (180º fan) 400ºF, gas 6.
2.
Boil the potatoes in a large pan of salted water until tender then drain well. Add the butter and milk, season with salt and pepper and roughly mash.
3.
Transfer the mashed potatoes to an ovenproof dish, scatter over the parmesan and place in the oven for 10 minutes or until the top is lightly browned.
