Preparation steps
1.
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) | 350F | gas 4.
2.
Soak the slice of white bread in 100 ml milk. Peel and finely chop the onions and the garlic. Fry in hot oil until soft. Squeeze any excess milk from the bread. Mix the bread with the minced lamb, add to the onions and fry. Season with curry powder, cardamon and cinnamon and continue to fry for 15 minutes until lightly browned and crumbly.
3.
Finely chop the dried apricots, halve the fresh apricots, remove the stone and finely chop. Add the apricots, raisins, almonds, chutney, lemon juice, salt and some ground pepper to the meat. Season with cayenne pepper.
4.
Beat the eggs and the milk. Place the mince mixture in a greased ovenproof baking dish. Pour the egg/milk mixture over the top and shake the dish to spread the mixture equally.
5.
Place the star anise, cinnamon stick and cardamon pod decoratively on the top and bake in the oven for 20 - 30 minutes.
