300 grams Sour cherry (from a jar)
2 eggs
1 egg white
1 pinch salt
2 Tbsps sugar
2 Tbsps Vanilla sugar
1 lemon (juiced)
175 grams Quark
175 milliliters milk
1 tsp Carob

Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F). Butter a baking dish. Toast the pistachios in a dry pan until fragrant and let cool. Set aside 1/3 of the nuts and chop remaining nuts. Drain cherries. Separate the eggs and beat all egg whites with the salt until firm. Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar and continue to beat until stiff. Beat yolks with remaining sugar, remaining vanilla sugar, lemon juice, quark and chopped pistachios. Stir in milk and carob bean powder. Fold in the egg whites.

Spread half of the cherries in the dish and cover with half of the quark cream. Top with the rest of the cherries and remaining cream and sprinkle with the remaining pistachios. Bake the oven until golden brown, about 35 minutes. Serve warm.
