1 chicken (approximately 1.4 kg)

freshly ground peppers
2 Tbsps olive oil
4 onions
2 garlic cloves
400 milliliters dry white wine
2 sprigs rosemary

Preparation steps

1.

Rinse chicken, pat dry and cut into 8 pieces. Season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a roasting pan and brown chicken on all sides. Remove from the pan. 

2.

Peel onions and cut into wedges. Peel and halve garlic. Saute both in a roasting pan briefly and add wine. Add rosemary and chicken and simmer, covered, for about 30 minutes. Add more wine as needed and stir occasionally. If desired, remove skin from chicken before serving. 

3.

Serve with white bread, if desired.
