Classic Beef Tacos

This traditional recipe is packed with protein from the beef and vitamin C from the peppers.
If you want a recipe with less calories and fat, substitute the ground beef for ground turkey.

- ½ Lettuce
- 18 ozs ground Beef
- 3 Tbsps butter
- 1 cup Cheddar cheese (grated)

- 6 hard corn Taco shell
Serve with a salad dressing or dip of your choice. (e. g. Caesar salad dressing, cocktail sauce or chilli sauce... ) Cannot be frozen
Preparation steps
Wash the tomatoes, remove the stalks, then halve, deseed and dice the tomatoes. Wash the lettuce, shake dry and shred coarsely. Heat the butter in a nonstick frying pan and fry the mince, breaking it up to brown right through. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Warm the taco shells in the oven (2 minutes at 400°F).
Then fill the tacos with the remaining ingredients. Put a little ground beef in one side of each taco. Season the lettuce lightly with salt and pepper and arrange loosely in the other side of the tacos.
Cover the lettuce with diced tomato, season lightly with salt, and sprinkle with grated cheese. Arrange on a platter and serve immediately.
Put the rest of the ingredients on the table so that the guest can help themselves to more.
