Preparation steps

1.

Cut a piece of aluminum foil into a circle (26 cm in diameter) (approximately 10 inches) and place on a large plate. Spread cornflakes on it. Rinse lemon in hot water, pat dry, grate zest and squeeze juice. Peel and quarter apples, core and cut into wedges. Mix immediately with lemon juice in a bowl. Fillet orange and mix orange fillets with honey and apples. Spread apple mixture on cornflakes.

2.

Beat egg whites until stiff and gradually add powdered sugar and lemon zest. Spread meringue on apple slices and roast under a hot broiler for about 5 minutes or until golden brown, watching carefully (or use Bunsen burner). Remove from the oven and cool. Serve immediately.
