1 pinch Cardamom
1 pinch ground ginger
500 grams jam sugar (2:1 ratio)
1 centiliter brown Rum

Preparation steps

Remove the stems from the crab apples. Rinse thoroughly and bring to a boil with 80 ml (approximately 3 ounces) of water and the lemon juice. Simmer for 10 minutes, until soft. Mash with a potato masher.

2.

Mix in the cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger. Stir in the sugar, bring to a boil, and cook for 4 minutes. Stir constantly so that the mixture doesn't stick and burn. Remove from the heat, stir in the rum, and fill the prepared jars to the brim.
