- 50 grams butter
- 1 pinch salt
- 150 grams Pastry flour
- 2 Tbsps sugar
- 1 generous pinch Baking powder
- 4 eggs
- Frying oil (such as: ghee)
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Preparation steps
1.
Boil 250 ml (approximately 1 cup) of water with butter and salt. Stir flour into boiling liquid. Stir until dough becomes a lump.

Place dough into a mixing bowl. Knead in sugar and baking powder. Gradually add eggs and process into a smooth, shiny dough.
3.
Heat oil in a wide saucepan to about 175°C (approximately 350°F).
4.
Use dough to shape small balls. Fry in portions in oil until golden yellow, about 2-3 minutes. Flip to ensure even cooking.
5.
Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve dusted with powdered sugar.
